How to bring French and Occitan mountain choirs into a mechanical workshop. To reinvent regional music
Between the Lagorai Range, the wildest in Trentino, and the Dolomites of the Paneveggio Pale di San Martino Park, the largest Dolomite group with its 240 km² of surface area, lies Malga Canvere, in a landscape of wooden huts, flowering meadows, and conifer forests.
An extremely evocative place, perfect for walking, contemplation, but also for socializing, an ideal setting to host the performance of Les Mécanos, a group of ten singers bound by a strong friendship, who have been exploring the French and Occitan musical heritage since 2018 , cultivating a shared desire: to recover the regional repertoires that are an integral part of each person’s musical universe.
But before you think of a “traditional” vocal concert of mountain choirs, let us explain the reason behind the group's name: Les Mécanos accompany their polyphony with percussion instruments of all kinds, from bass drums and floor toms to tools and work instruments that usually don’t appear in theaters and music arenas, but rather in mechanical workshops, such as wrenches, exhaust pipes, or rims.
This unusual “marriage” produces intense and evocative music, ranging from the repertoire of work and protest songs to rhythms suitable for dancing, celebrations, and moments of festivity for communities gathering to strengthen their bonds of friendship, their desire to be together, and their alliances.

How to get there:
From Predazzo, drive to Bellamonte - Castelìr (parking), then take the Castelìr – Fassane – Morea cable car and walk along trail 623.
20 minutes of walking, elevation gain of 10 meters, difficulty E (easy).
From Moena, drive to the Alpe Lusia lift station (parking), then take the Ronchi – Valbona – Le Cune cable car and walk along trail 623.
1 hour 15 minutes of walking, elevation gain of 230 meters, difficulty E (easy).
Hike with the Alpine Guides of Trentino for €15.00 per person (free for children under 8).
20% discount for holders of the Trentino Guest Card and Fiemme Cembra Guest Card.

Weather contingency:
In case of bad weather, the event will be moved to 5:30 PM at Palafiemme, Cavalese.
