Sunsets and Full Moons
Guided moonlit snowshoe hikes with dinner in a Mountain Lodge
Put on your snowshoes and walk across snow painted by the red of sunset and the white glow of the full moon, accompanied by an experienced Alpine Guide, with an à-la-carte traditional mountain dinner.
Imagine the silence of the snow-covered forest as the sun fades into shades of red and the full moon begins to illuminate the trails. Step by step, the snowshoe hike leads you through enchanting landscapes, ending at a warm mountain lodge that welcomes you with the authentic scent of alpine cuisine — the taste and magic of an evening suspended between sky and snow.
Many events are scheduled to coincide with the full moon, taking place in mountain locations overlooking the Vallagarina valley. During the excursion, there will be a stop in a typical mountain restaurant (baita, refuge, chalet, etc.) where everyone will enjoy an à-la-carte dinner, paying directly on site for whatever they choose to order.
- Saturday, 6th of December – Polsa & Chalet Dahu
An easy hike across the gentle slopes of Polsa, offering an unforgettable view over the Vallagarina from one of its most scenic lookouts, and through a snow-covered beech forest leading back to the warmth of Chalet Dahu on its reopening day… for an unforgettable evening.
Meeting point: Polsa parking area
- Saturday, 3rd of January – San Valentino & Rifugio Baita Fos-Ce
Step into the surreal silence of the beech forest of San Valentino, following traces of the First World War, listening closely and scanning the horizon until the welcoming lights of Rifugio Baita Fos-Ce appear. Let yourself be won over by the flavors of tradition before the easy return to the starting point.
Meeting point: Stanga San Valentino parking area
More information on upcoming dates will be available soon.
IMPORTANT: The use of snowshoes or micro-crampons depends on snow conditions; if there is no snow, the excursion will take place on foot if conditions allow. Good physical fitness is required, and layered thermal clothing with gloves, hat, backpack, a thermos with a hot drink, and some snacks for the hike is mandatory.
NOTE: It is possible to rent the necessary equipment directly from the guide on site, provided this is requested at the time of booking.
The Alpine Guide reserves the right to modify the route based on terrain conditions, weather, and the group’s level of preparation.
