Anthropologist Prof. presents his new book "Mongolia and the Mongols: an extraordinary historical, geographical and cultural account through the words of travellers from ancient times to the early 20th century".
The volume analyses the testimonies of travellers, pilgrims, monks, soldiers, scholars and adventurers, all representatives of the settled world and culture, on the nomadic universe of the Mongols. Housing, tents, caravans, customs and traditions, clothing, food, religion and shamanism, funeral rituals, sacred places, monasteries and villages are the themes related to the nomadic world of Mongolia examined in the work.
Participation is free, welcome and free of charge.
Afterwards, at 7:30 p.m., we will meet at Spumazer for dinner: “The Taste of Solidarity,” an opportunity to learn more about and personally support the project “Una Ger per tutti - Ger for life” (A Ger for Everyone - Ger for Life), led with great determination by Bellatalla to provide concrete help to single mothers of disabled children in Ulan Bator, Mongolia..
To participate in the dinner, reservations must be made at the library by 19 September. The cost is €35. All proceeds, net of expenses, will be donated to the project.
