The most heartfelt winter tradition on the Alpe Cimbra returns: La Zéna Poréta, the celebrated candlelit “poor dinner,” has over the years become a symbol of community, memory, and heritage.
This evening is born from the desire to relive the simplicity and warmth of the holidays “as they once were,” when families gathered around the table to share a humble yet lovingly prepared meal, made with simple ingredients and a strong sense of togetherness.
It was a moment of reflection and gratitude, where food wasn’t about abundance but about love and sharing.
Today, La Zéna Poréta brings back that authentic spirit, inviting everyone to turn off the lights for an evening and be illuminated only by candles and smiles, while tasting dishes that speak of the history and roots of our mountains.
Traditional menu:
• Pasta e fasòi (pasta and beans)
• Local bread and cheese
• Potato polenta
• Pickled cabbage salad
• Apple strudel
• House wine and spring water from Lavarone
As a keepsake of this special dinner, you’ll be able to take home the bowl, glass, and ladle used during the meal.
