I Suoni delle Dolomiti: Elio, Scilla Cristiano, Philharmonic Oboe Quartet

Experience Mozart in an entirely new light, through a unique interpretation that transcends tradition.

Villa Welsperg, built in 1853, once the residence of the Counts from whom it takes its name, is a splendid example of stately mountain architecture. It is made up of three buildings, the villa itself, the small church and the barn, surrounded by a garden and on the edge of a large pasture that eventually becomes a peat bog. Today it is the headquarters of the Paneveggio Pale di San Martino Natural Park.

The beauty of the place alone would justify the trip. But in this case the reason is even more tempting: the musical programme includes a very famous name in Italian music (but his fame has crossed the borders), Elio, leader of the unforgettable Elio e le Storie Tese, in the double role of narrator and baritone, a famous soprano, Scilla Cristiano, and the Philharmonic Oboe Quartet, an offshoot of the Berlin Philharmonic, one of the most prestigious symphony orchestras in the world. 

The concert under the Pale di San Martino is an original, brilliant reinterpretation of The Magic Flute by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, based on the adaptation by Vivian Lamarque, with additions from the original libretto. The widely acclaimed show also includes some famous arias, such as that of the jolly bird-catcher Papageno, accompanied throughout by music arranged by F.J.  Rosinack for oboe, violin, viola and cello.
  
How to get there

• From Tonadico, on foot along the Tonadico-Cimerlo trail. Walking time: 1 hour 20 minutes, altitude chanfe: 300 meters, difficulty: T (Tourist/Easy).
   
• From Primiero by car, following the signs for Val Canali (parking available until full)
   
• By free bus from the designated parking areas along the access road from Primiero (bus timetables and stops will be available soon)

Inclusive music

I Suoni delle Dolomiti is seeking to increase its accessibility for disabled people. Thanks to our collaboration with Re-Moove, this concert is accessible for people with motor and sensory disabilities, with a specially designated information and booking service and on-site support for getting to the concert. This includes the provision of accessible transport and bikes. People with hearing impairments will also be able to make use of Subpacs, innovative audio-tactile tools that can be worn like backpacks and that vibrate to the beat of the music, allowing for sound perception.
