In the Italian War History Museum an exhibition describes the main events happened on the front of Trentino during 1915 and 1918.
The exhibition "Die for Trento" describes trough pieces of letters, diaries and memories how the Austro-Hungarian and Italian soldiers lived the dramatic experience on the Front of Trentino between 1915 and 1918. The fragments of the life to the front are accompanied by images and objects coming from the collections of the Italian War History Museum of Rovereto and other museums of the Rete Trentino Grande Guerra. All the texts are proposed in Italian and German. The first part of the exhibition shows the memories of the First World War of Italy and Austria, and the strong work of institutions, museums and associations to preserve the material proofs of the war. The exhibition goes on showing how Italy and Austro-Hungarian Empire entered in the war – the words of the politics and the propaganda -, the organization of the army and the main events on the front of Trentino, from the Stelvio Pass and the Marmolada. The third part of the exhibition shows through the quotes of letters, diaries and memories of ten Italian soldiers and ten Austro-Hungarian soldiers how the soldiers fought on this front.
