Bergknappen Primör 2025
Evocative Historical Reenactment of Late Medieval Primiero
This event takes its name from the “Bergknappen,” the many miners who came to Primiero from Tyrol and the wider Germanic world.
The stunning grounds of the Palazzo delle Miniere will come alive with a medieval village, bringing to life the experiences of miners and the legendary “canopi,” unsung heroes of this extraordinary era.
Program
- Fiera di Primiero – Gardens of Palazzo delle Miniere (daily)
4:00–9:00 PM: Medieval miners' village with mineral processing demos, a children’s mine, and personalized diplomas
4:30–6:30 PM: “A Story for You” – a storytelling corner for curious kids
5:00–6:30 PM: Become a swordsman! Basic fencing for children
9:00 PM: Fire, dreams, and nightmares – show on canopi and legends
- Saturday, August 2 – Fiera di Primiero, town center
6:00 PM: "Year of Our Lord 1506: Markt Primör is proclaimed a borough, with a ceremony featuring the Marzoli, Bürgermeister, and dignitaries, followed by a historical parade to the Palazzo delle Miniere gardens". The evening continues with live music by Gnuco Alpen Sgnapa Band and a performance by US Primiero – Fencing Section.
