Saturday, August 2, Folgaria will have the honor of welcoming the Schützen delegations from North Tyrol, South Tyrol, and Trentino for a solemn day of commemoration of the fallen of the First World War. The event, promoted by the Verband Tiroler Schützen, is part of the "An Der Front" historical-cultural project, which aims to rediscover and honor the commemorative crosses placed along the former borders of historic Tyrol — symbols of memory and shared identity. Folgaria will have the honor of hosting, on August 2, 2025, the delegations of the Schützen from North Tyrol, South Tyrol, and Trentino for a solemn day of commemoration of the fallen of the First World War. This event not only pays tribute to the many young people who sacrificed their lives for our freedom, but also serves as a testimony of community and shared identity.
Organized by the Verband Tiroler Schützen, this gathering is part of the historical-cultural project "An Der Front", which aims to rediscover, celebrate, and honor the commemorative crosses that mark the border of historic Tyrol—symbols of a deep and lasting bond between the territories that once formed a unified region. A unique opportunity to relive history together, honoring the courage and dedication of those who contributed to the defense of their homeland.
The Schützenkompanie Vielgereuth Folgaria is proud to take care of the logistics for this extraordinary day, which will see the participation of hundreds of people united by a shared passion for history and tradition.
Event Program:
• 1:00 PM – Gathering of participants and Holy Mass at the Seconda Posta location, in remembrance of the fallen.
• Transfer to Folgaria, where the second part of the day will begin.
• 5:00 PM – Solemn parade through the charming streets of the village, with over 500 Schützen in traditional costumes, in an atmosphere full of history and tradition.
• 7:00 PM – Dinner at the Palaghiaccio, where local specialties will be served, and attendees will enjoy live music by the Banda Folk di Folgaria, creating a moment of celebration and sharing for all.
