Visit to the "Gran Vera" museum
Guided visit to the thematic exhibition "1914-1918. La Gran Vera", which recounts the years in which Val di Fassa was devastated by the First World War
The important exhibition, set up in the "Navalge" Theatre and promoted by the Municipality of Moena, the Ladin Cultural Institute and the association "Sul fronte dei ricordi" with the coordination of Michele Simonetti and Mauro Caimi, is a treasure trove of documents and artefacts that help us reflect. An interactive journey through trenches, original uniforms, relics, images, sounds, videos, voices and reconstructions that recount the consequences of the conflict on the valley and its inhabitants: in 1914, the people of Val di Fassa were subjects of the Austro-Hungarian Empire and were called upon to leave to defend the border with Russia. Then, in 1915, Italy's entry into the war and the shifting of the front line to the Dolomites forced our men - farmers, artisans and hunters aged between 18 and 40 - to fight in the first person against the Italians, who were sent to the brink in an attempt to conquer one peak after another in order to reach Vienna.
Price: € 10 per person; € 8 for children aged 10 to 14; free for children under 10. Compulsory registration directly at the exhibition in Moena or by calling +39 377 3011363 (min 5 people - max 20 people).
