The Suoni delle Dolomiti trek will lead you to a concert by Mario Brunello, accompanied by the guitars of Pietro Brunello and Alessandro "Asso" Stefana. Three days of hiking, music, and stories along the trails of the majestic Pale di San Martino, guided by attentive alpine guides and passionate musicians with whom you will share your steps, the landscape, and the magical experience of sleeping and living in a mountain refuge.
The mountain shapes the lives of those who love it. It takes passion, respect, patience to endure what it demands and bear its wonder, to make peace with its silences and with ours. Paolo Cognetti, one of us, has given voice to our emotions. Unfortunately, he is forced to give up on the trekking. His is a goodbye. He invites us, however, to set ourselves out: "Each of us has a favourite altitude in the mountains, a landscape that looks like him and where he feels good. For no reason in the world, we must stop looking for it. Walking with us, along with Mario and Pietro Brunello, is guitarist Alessandro 'Asso' Stefana, for a full immersion into the heart of the American Badlands. A total music experience awaits us!
Itinerary
To undertake this trek, it's essential to be well-equipped and physically trained. The route takes place in a high mountain environment, with some exposed sections and short fixed ropes. The minimum age for participation is 12 years old.
Day 1: Malga Fosse di Sopra - Rifugio Rosetta (September 4, 2024) The route follows the Finanzieri Trail, reaching Pala Monda and continuing on Trail 701 to Rifugio Rosetta. It traverses scree slopes under Cimon della Pala to the green pastures above the Crode Rosse. A long traverse under the cliffs leads to Trail 701, which ends the ascent with quick switchbacks and some exposed sections.
Day 2: Altopiano delle Pale - Rifugio Pradidali (September 5, 2024) Following Trails 707-711bis-709, the undulating path across the plateau skirts the remnants of the Fradusta glacier, descending into the Val Pradidali beneath the towering walls of Pala di San Martino to reach Rifugio Pradidali. This long journey traverses the heart of the massif across the vast "Desert of the Tartars," then moves under rocks sought after by traditional climbers.
Day 3: Rifugio Pradidali – Prati Col (September 6, 2024) The path from the refuge ascends briefly to Passo di Ball via Trail 715. It continues below the west face of Pala di San Martino, intersecting Trail 702 (note: about 200 meters of this section is equipped with fixed ropes and requires via ferrata gear). The trail descends to Col dei Becchi and finally reaches Prati Col, the concert location.
