<p>Arco has an extraordnary microclimate with agave and prickly pear thriving on limestone slabs, so that on crisp winter days there is a unique blend of Mediterranean vegetation against snow-capped Monte Baldo and the sunshine shimmering on the waters of Lake Garda.</p> <p>The olive groves are an essential part of the Garda Trentino landscape and this trail is easy and suited to families with children who can have fun watching all the climbers in action on the Placche di Baone crag.</p> <p>There is a fabulous view over the entire Garda Trentino area from Rochetta to Monte Baldo, stretching across the glittering waters of Lake Garda.</p> <p>An easy trail suited to all, this is however a hiking trail and it requires the ability to walk on rough terrain. Some stretches run along the upper perimeter of the slabs so be careful to stay on the path</p>

Equipment
Mountain hikes require specific clothing and equipment. Even for relatively short and easy outings, it is always best to be well equipped to avoid unpleasant surprises and to face unexpected events such as a sudden thunderstorm or a drop in energy.
What to bring for a mountain trekking?
In your backpack (for a day hike, a 25/30L bag is normally recommended) it is good to bring:
- water bottle (1L)
- snacks (e.g., dried fruit or chocolate)
- first aid kit
- windbreaker jacket
- fleece sweater
- spare t-shirt and socks (preferably in a plastic bag)
- worn or at least brought in the backpack a pair of long pants
- hat
- sunscreen
- sunglasses
- gloves
- whistle to be located in case of emergency
Wear suitable footwear for the path and season. The trail surface can be uneven or rough and a pair of hiking boots will protect you from sprains. A grassy slope, a rock slab, or a steep trail when wet can become dangerous without proper footwear.
