A unique feature of the route is that, although it develops for 150 meters in the municipality of Calceranica, the path continues to climb along the wooded slopes of the Vigolana Plateau for another 220 meters, in the territory of Bosentino. An extremely important connection, therefore, not only between the two municipalities but also between the shores of the lake and the mountain above.
The path, in the Calceranica Mining Park, was connected to pyrite mining activity which has very ancient origins. After its undeniable disuse already in the 1960s, the path was restored with clearing and cleaning work not only of the stone steps but also of the adjoining dry stone walls, characteristic of the terraces that once covered the Mandola Valley and which, still today, can partly be admired.
