Mountain tour
Val Nambrone - La Via delle Valli

Panoramic and moderately difficult hike in Val Nambrone from Rifugio Cornisello to Lago della Vedretta. The last section, steeper and more challenging, offers a perfect view of the Dolomites.

Val Nambrone is accessible by car up to Rifugio Cornisello along a rather narrow and exposed mountain road. The view gradually opens up to the Brenta Dolomites, the peaks of Presanella, Doss del Sabion, and Val Rendena as you ascend.
The area is rich in lakes which, in the '60s, were part of an important hydroelectric exploitation project of which traces are still visible.

The first lakes encountered are the Cornisello lakes, at elevation 2083 m and 2112 m, accessible by car and located in a beautiful basin ideal for walks and picnics.

Many paths start here leading to surrounding huts, peaks, and other lakes. Among these, the Lago della Vedretta, milky blue in color, at 2612 m altitude, is reached on foot from the Cornisello lakes. At the end of the 19th century, it was lapped by the front of the Cornisello glacier and is still surrounded by tonalite rocks with clear signs of glacial sculpting. A magical place and incredible panoramic terrace.
