Val Gabbiolo - The Way of the Valleys

Val Gabbiolo is a journey into the wilderness of Val Genova. Steep and little frequented, it offers splendid views of Lobbie, Adamello, and Carè Alto, leading to a rocky amphitheater of incredible beauty.

Val Gabbiolo is a beautiful side valley of Val Genova accessed from Rifugio Stella Alpina. Like many side valleys of this valley, Val Gabbiolo also presents typical characteristics of environmental harshness combined with the great satisfaction of an almost pioneering exploration: marked steepness, minimal signage, intact and wild beauty, and isolation.

The steep climb is accompanied by an incredible view of the Lobbie, Carè Alto, and Adamello-Presanella. The upper part of the valley is dominated by elegant spires, including Punta Graffer, Torre Bogani, Punta Gian, Campanile Zapparoli, Ago Nardis, and Campanile dei Boci, which form a rocky amphitheater that looks sculpted by an artist.

Upon reaching the final plateau, occupied by a large boulder called "Masso del bivacco", all that remains is to enjoy the attractive charm of this place, once much frequented by climbers who loved classic mountaineering.
