Val Avèrta - La Via delle Valli
Mountain tour
Val Avèrta - La Via delle Valli

A biodiversity-rich hike that starts gently and gradually becomes steeper until the cross at the summit of Monte Bruffione, from where you can enjoy a magnificent view.

The starting point is located at Malga Val Avèrta, reachable by car or bike, ascending from the village of Brione along an asphalted and slightly winding road that winds into a progressively narrower valley, bordered by steep rock walls. Once you arrive at the malga, the landscape opens up, transforming into a wide corridor that leads to a solitary amphitheatre, covered with larches and high-altitude meadows that in summer are colored by numerous flower varieties.

From Malga Val Avèrta starts the SAT trail 257, which goes straight up to Monte Bruffione summit. After the initial stretch through the larch forest (very evocative in autumn) and the following stretch along the pasture, from Malga Bòndolo it climbs along the steep slope of Monte Bruffione, dotted with numerous erratic blocks of tonalite.

Once at the summit, you enjoy an enchanting view over the underlying Val Avèrta and the mountains of the southern side of the tonalite and ice massif of Adamello.

The return, which descends towards Passo Bocca di Remà (SAT trail 257B), offers not only a panorama but also an immersion in history, thanks to numerous remains of trenches, huts, and mule tracks built by the Italian army during the Great War.
