The Castelloni di San Marco trail offers unparalleled views and is certainly one of the most unique and evocative places on the entire plateau.
<p>This trail crosses at the summit a real stone labyrinth, finely shaped by glaciers and weathering agents.</p> <p>It is an immense natural castle overlooking the Valsugana valley: full of battlements, towers, halls, gorges, holes carved by water over millions of years on the soft limestone. It is part of the vast karst system of the Fossetta abyss (dozens of kilometers of caves) that discharges its waters into the Bigonda cave in Valsugana and is still being explored by speleologists. It is recommended to travel the entire well-marked path called the 'labyrinth' which, with its very winding route, leads to see, in the right sequence, the astonishing magic of this incredible place. It is a kind of 'roller coaster' through cracks, fissures, narrow passages, caves, wedged rocks, large halls, and water-worked boulders.</p>
