The Forra del Lupo route
A long ridge of Austro-Hungarian trenches from the First World War

The "Forra del Lupo" is a long ridge of Austro-Hungarian trenches from the First World War, located on the border between Terragnolo and Folgaria. Here, the emotions of the past move with the calm of nature and the beauty of incredible landscapes. This trench was brought to light only in 2014 thanks to the paintings of Albin Egger and the photos of the Austro-Hungarian war officer Ludwig Fasser. Today the Forra del Lupo route, called "Wolfsschluch" by the Austro-Hungarians, is safely passable, carved between high rocky walls, consisting of rails, observation posts, and caves overlooking cliffs and steep slopes towards Pasubio, on the high orographic side behind the Terragnolo valley.

The main attraction of the route is the narrow passage through the "Forra del Lupo" which gives the circuit its name. The "Forra del Lupo" was a frontline trench, manned in 1915, at the outbreak of the First World War, by Standschützen from Folgaria. Downhill, in Terragnolo, Italian troops were stationed.
