Steps through history: from the ancient neighborhood of Ciajeole to Malga Roncac

On this walk, the Fairy of the Dolomites takes you by the hand and leads you above her settlement to let you admire the San Pellegrino valley from a perspective that is entirely hers and therefore enchanted.

To understand why Moena is known as the Fairy of the Dolomites, you can venture out on this walk that gradually leads you to admire it in all its fullness. Beautiful and elegant in all seasons, with the snow the Fairy gathers her white cloak, to replace it in summer with an immense floral tulle, both enlivened by the Enrosadira of the Catinaccio. Gaining altitude, but never losing sight of the village, you reach Malga Roncac, at the edge of the forest, after crossing the oldest inhabited area of Moena, "Ciajeole." Its name derives from "ciajea," the cow shed, the place where cheese was once processed and produced. If you happen to be here in July, don't miss the traditional neighborhood festival to taste the best Ladin specialties.
