Stage 6 Dolomiti Trek King - Towards the Roda de Vael

This is the king of treks in Val di Fassa, amidst some of the most breathtaking mountains in the world. The sixth and final stage will take you from Gardeccia to Costalunga Pass.

From the Gardeccia hollow, take trail no. 540 to Ciampedie, which offers a magnificent view over the entire Vaiolet Valley. Continue along the path no. 545, also called "Alta Via dei Fassani", which leads to the Baita Marino Pederiva and Roda di Vael refuges. Alternatively, from Ciampedie, go up to "Pra Martin" and follow the "Vial da le feide" (namely the sheep path) at the foot of the "Cigolade" (the path is very panoramic and presents some slightly exposed stretches). From the "Ciampaz" Saddle, in the nearest of Baita Marino Pederiva Refuge, trail no. 548 descends to the Costalunga Pass. <p>Alternatively, continue along path no. 549 to the monument to Theodor Christomannos, who devised the "Dolomite Road: Bolzano, Cortina, Dobbiaco", and then follow path no. 539 to the Paolina Refuge. From here, make your way down to the Costalunga Pass walking on path no. 552 or taking the chairlift. You can then return to Vigo by the bus service SAD.</p>
