Stage 3 Dolomiti Trek King in autumn - Sassolungo

<p>Autumn version of the Dolomiti Trek King, sleeping in refuges and walking for 3 days through landscapes and forests that light up with golden hues. The third and final stage will take you from the Sasso Piatto Refuge to Campitello.</p>

<p>From the Sasso Piatto Refuge, take the downhill path no. 527, then turn right and continue along the same trail. First, reach the panoramic Piz de Uridl, then descend into the western basin of the Sassolungo. From here, ascend briefly the debris gorge, with the Vicenza Refuge already in sight. After passing the refuge, move to the opposite side of the massif, following trails no. 526 and 526/A. You will face a landslide side of imposing reddish rocks until reaching the grassy saddle of Piz Ciaulonch. Pass through a labyrinth of boulders, cross a flatter section, then tackle the ascent that leads you near the Comici Refuge. From here take trail no. 526/C, which penetrates the spectacular City of Stones. Continue towards Passo Sella and Salei Refuge. Shortly after, take a dirt road descending into the verdant Val Salei, bordering near the end the ski slope towards Pian de Frataces (Lupo Bianco). You reach the Pecedac forest road, which you travel for a very short stretch before following the right deviation to Mortic. Enter the wood, where a sequence of increasingly sharp switchbacks accompanies you in a suggestive zigzag among the trees. Exiting into meadows, you join trail no. 655, which follows the course of the Antermont stream and leads downhill to Canazei. You arrive in the heart of the historic center and shortly reach the stop of Strèda de Parèda, from where you take the bus back to Vigo (Trentino Trasporti line).</p>
