Stage 1 Dolomiti Trek King - At the foot of the Queen of the Dolomites

<p>This is the king of trekking in Val di Fassa, among the most exciting mountains in the world. The first stage will take you from Pozza to Val Contrin.</p>

<p>Once you reach Buffaure with the cable car from Pozza, descend the slope to the saddle where, on the left, take the chairlift leading to Col de Valvacin. You pass the short ramp that climbs to Sas de Adam, beyond which you start to descend. When the ridge rises again, you cross its northern slopes to Sela Brunéch. Above the chairlift (no. 613/B), you regain the narrow ridge closing the southern edge of the Ciampac basin. You cross it entirely up to the buttresses of Sas de Ròces which force you to move to the Val San Nicolò side. You descend some hairpin bends to cross the slope at altitude, helped by a metal rope, thus reaching the wide grassy saddle above Sas Bianch. You climb (no. 613) with a steep diagonal on the west side of "Varosc". From here a short well-marked deviation allows you to reconnect with the main trail then reach Rifugio Passo San Nicolò. Descend along trail no. 608 into Val Contrin.</p>
