Soraga - Tamion - Costa Bergousa - Malga Roncac - Palua - Soraga

Hike from Soraga to Tamion, a small village 4 km from Vigo. It is a typical Ladin village of the past, in a sunny position with an incredible view of the Sassolungo group, Buffaure, and Cima Dodici.

From the center of Soraga, take Strada del Cioch and, continuing on Strada de Barbida, reach the district with the same name. In front of the small church, take the right road and, still on the right, pass under an arch vault beyond which you go left, uphill. Climb straight for about 150 meters, then turn right. You pass the steep sandstone cliffs of Val Gardena whose reddish formations can be glimpsed down in the gorge. The climb is steep and challenging but, in the upper part, it is accompanied by a good tree cover that eases the effort. You reach small grassy clearings which become wider, then come out into the open and finally reach the plain near a small grove of larches and firs. A stop here is mandatory to catch your breath and look around. A small rise on the left is the ideal position to admire the splendid view both towards the south, with Soraga and Moena, and towards the north, with Tamion located high amid the meadows and overlooked by the Dirupi di Larséch. Continue through the meadows in a relaxing environment. Some winding curves help you overcome the slope and, near an old barn, you enter Tamion. Two fountains, where you can refresh yourself, lead towards the church. Take Strada de Sora Pozat, pass the Weiss Farmhouse and enter the forest following sign no. 556. Continue gently uphill towards Costa Bergousa. From here the route becomes less demanding. Long flat sections alternate with short ramps and wide hairpin bends allow descent. Finally, you arrive at the junction with trail no. 519 coming from Moena and leading to Passo Costalunga. The long descent leads towards Moena. After Malga Roncac, follow Strada de Roncac > Strada de Rancolin > Strada Saslonch. From Agritur El Mas, continue on the paved farm road crossing the meadows above Lago di Pecé. The route is very panoramic as it is surrounded by the Catinaccio Group, Sassolungo, and, on the right, the long ridge of Cima Dodici. Upon arrival at Palua, descend towards the center of Soraga along the street of the same name.
