Route for the abandoned places of Pinteri, Manfrin, and Gerosa
Easy circular walk passing through the abandoned settlements of Pinteri, Manfrin, and Gerosa
An easy walk of about an hour and a half that starts from the small village of Cisterna towards the settlements of Pinteri and Gerosa, abandoned for decades, along an ancient road that connected them to the nearby village. The route starts from the ancient stone mill at the parking above the village; from there you walk alongside the fields to the charming vaulted stone spring of Fontanèi. You continue by leaving the forest and encountering open water wells and an ancient lime kiln. Climbing zigzag, the path quickly leads to the abandoned hamlet of Pinteri and the nearby Manfrin. Continuing from Pinteri, the road proceeds with a short but steep climb overlooking the Terragnolo valley, through a pine forest. After about fifteen minutes, you come across a path on the left descending from Monte Finonchio and, after a short stretch downhill, pass a spring and reach Gerosa, another abandoned settlement with the remains of two houses. Continuing on the flat path, you reach Pietra. From here you take the paved road downhill passing through Moietto and returning to Cisterna.
