A must for road bike: the Menador road (or Kaiserjägerstrasse). A challenging route leading to one of the most scenic viewpoints over the lakes of Levico and Caldonazzo
<p>From the village of Levico Terme, a town located on the shores of the homonymous lake, first follow a stretch of the Valsugana cycle path and then a stretch of road towards Loc. Lochere of Caldonazzo where the ascent to Passo Vezzena begins via the renowned military origin road known as “kaiserjagerstrasse” or "Menador".</p> <p>With its long straights carved into the rock and the 9 hairpin bends, it is quite a demanding road, which first takes us to the viewpoint with a fantastic view of the lakes of Levico and Caldonazzo and then to the green pastures of the Vezzena plateau where there are many alpine huts that produce the famous Vezzena cheese in summer.</p> <p>The return can be along the same route (please be careful of ascending cars) or along a variant through the villages of Centa San Nicolò and/or Bosentino.</p> <p>The route was chosen as the final climb of one of the last stages of the Giro D'Italia 2022.</p> <p> </p>
