Ritonda – Malga Pradidali – Pra Òstio – Malga Canali

The route is a beautiful circular path that allows you to appreciate the beauties of some of the most interesting views of Val Canali and Val Pradidali without requiring particular physical effort.

The route begins at the end of the valley-bottom road of Val Canali, at the Sabionade junction, near the Madonna della Neve locality (about 1,180 m above sea level). The first part of the hike follows the signs for Rifugio Pradidali, retracing the course of the Pradidali Stream along Trail No. 709 until reaching Baita Don Bosco (1,231 m above sea level). From the hut, instead of continuing along Trail No. 709 which crosses the watercourse and runs along the western side of Val Pradidali, keep to the eastern side of the valley, along a wide path that leads directly to Malga Pradidali (1,428 m above sea level). The alpine hut, famous for its rich water springs, was active until the 1960s; now reduced to ruins, it is in a particularly fascinating position, immersed in the silence that only abandonment can bring.

From Malga Pradidali, which opens the view towards Cimerlo and Sass Maór to the west, the route continues through a stretch of forest, following a contour path southwest, which leads in just under a kilometer to the beautiful basin of the Pra d’Òstio locality, where several rural buildings lie in the meadows, having maintained the typical architectural style of the old “masi”.

From Pra d’Òstio, the path turns west, quickly leading first to Prati Canali and then to Malga Canali (1,307 m above sea level). Malga Canali, immersed in green pastures and renowned as a refreshment point, is located in a position that offers a 360-degree view of the surrounding peaks, including Pala Cristoforo to the west, Pala dei Colombi, Cima di Lastéi and the Cime del Coro to the north, Sass d’Ortiga, Cima d’Oltro and Monte Feltraio to the east.

From this point, the return to the starting point involves a comfortable descent along the paved access road to Malga Canali (Trail No. 707), the same that leads down from Rifugio Treviso, which brings you directly back to the starting point following the edges of Prati Canali, along the course of the Canali Stream.
