Rifugio Refavaie – Malga Fossernica di dentro – Cima dei Paradisi

The hike to Cima dei Paradisi is a classic route in the Valle del Vanoi suitable for both the summer trekking season and the winter season for snowshoeing or ski mountaineering.

The starting point is at Rifugio Refavaie (1,116 m above sea level). From the hut, take the Coldosè Forest Road (Trail No. 335) which gradually ascends along the valley floor where the Rio di Coltorondo flows, immersed in a wooded environment. After a couple of kilometers, upon reaching the fork for Coldosè, continue to the right along the road to Malga Fossernica di dentro. During this first stretch, you can shorten the route by cutting the hairpin bends, ascending along the tracks in the forest, usually beaten and well visible.

Arriving at Malga Fossernica di dentro (1,777 m above sea level), climb directly to the wide wooded ridge and pass through increasingly open slopes until you surpass the last vegetation-free sections. The last 100 meters of elevation gain are in an open environment and the ascent line is logical up to the summit.

The view from Cima dei Paradisi is breathtaking and allows you to admire the Pale di San Martino (east), the Vette Feltrine (southeast), Cima d’Asta (southwest), Monte Cauriol (west) and the entire Lagorai range (north, northwest).

The return follows the ascent route, with the possibility to shorten it through the forest.
