Reflections and scents of Swiss stone pine at Lake San Pellegrino

Take your time. Just over 1000 meters is the perimeter of the path around the lake, but in its waters you can read the entire valley geography while on the shores you breathe it in.

Here, at 1900 meters, on the eastern border of Trentino, on the pass named after the friars of San Pellegrino, a passage for soldiers and a battleground, this lake offers wellness and amplifies beauty in all seasons. Along its path, enriched with wooden sculptures, you cross bridges and walkways. Above all, in its waters, depending on the light and shadows drawn by the sun’s circuit, you recognize in a blue and green mirror the ridges of Costabella and Col Margherita, of Cima di Juribrutto and even Cima d’Uomo. As you walk, you may notice the pace slows to give you time to look but especially to breathe in the scent of larch, Swiss stone pine, and mountain pine. You look for traces of forest animals and the colors of juniper branches, a fundamental ingredient of Ladin tradition. And, once the tour is over, you’ll want to continue strolling at a gentle pace through the Fuciade basin.
