Provincial Natural Reserve Fontanazzo
Near the town of Selva (a hamlet of Grigno), the reserve extends over about 50 hectares on the right hydrographic bank of the Brenta River. The protected area is easily reachable by following the Valsugana cycle path.
To enter the heart of the Biotope there is a path accessible both to strollers and wheelchairs "avoid rainy days or periods immediately after rain" that leads us to the observation point of the pond. Avoiding noise is definitely helpful to observe the animals present. From an environmental point of view, Fontanazzo is quite varied: it includes stretches of riparian forest (composed of black alder, white alder, and white willow) which represents the characteristic vegetation of the reserve, meadows, crops, the river and riverbed, as well as minor watercourses. Many species of birds and mammals find refuge, feeding opportunities, and reproduction in the dense vegetation. To visit the Provincial Natural Reserve Fontanazzo you can follow the visit path of about 4.3 km, of which just over one third is inside the biotope and the remaining part outside it.
