Moena - Someda - Soraga - Pianac - Someda
A leisurely walk from Moena, the "Fairy of the Dolomites", to Soraga, meandering above Lake Pecé and offering breathtaking views of Latemar, Catinaccio, and the Monzoni ridge.
A path winds through gentle expanses, recounting the lives of mountain people who once lived in close harmony with nature. Just before reaching the "Cernadoi" steps, which lead from Moena to the hamlet of Someda, a now-renovated building stands as a tribute to the "Bottega del Pinter" - the workshop of the barrel maker who crafted barrels for food preservation. In Someda, the path reaches a pass before descending towards Soraga Alta, nestled among meadows, where the Gothic church of Saints Rocco and Sebastian awaits. This church, with its sacred shrine built during the plague, has been reconstructed multiple times, notably after the fire of January 1883. On the return journey, the path crosses the "Pianac" clearing, which offers panoramic views over Someda. In the 1950s and 1960s, this scenic spot was accessible via a single-seater chairlift. Higher up, the Bar Belvedere once welcomed both villagers and tourists, filling the air with music, dancing, and football tournaments - creating cherished moments of conviviality and shared joy.
