From Moena to Soraga: nature just a step from home

A relaxing walk from Moena, the Fairy of the Dolomites, to Soraga, skirting the Pecé Lake from above, surrounded by the Latemar, the Catinaccio and the Monzoni ridge.

A route on gentle slopes, a story about the life of mountain people who were totally dependent on nature. Just before the "Cernadoi" staircase, which from Moena leads to the hamlet of Someda, a now renovated building recalls the times when the "Bottega del Pinter" still existed, the maker of barrels for food conservation. In Someda, take a break before reaching Soraga Alta immersed in meadows, the Gothic church of Saints Rocco and Sebastiano with the sacred shrine built during the plague and later subject to various restorations following the fire of January 1883. On the return, the path crosses the Pianac clearing overlooking the hamlet of Someda. In the 1950s and ’60s, this place was accessible by a single-seat chairlift. Above, the Bar Belvedere welcomed locals and tourists with glasses of spuma, music, dances and football tournaments, giving moments of conviviality and shared joy.
