Macaion Roen Gravel

The most alpine among the gravel routes of Val di Non with panoramic passages on ridges suspended over the Adige Valley

Intended for more experienced cyclists, this 59 km route with 2070 meters of elevation gain offers a pure alpine gravel experience, balancing the rather short distances with challenging climbs and terrain. The route, mostly unpaved (76%) with short portage sections, challenges you with steep climbs and technical descents, immersing you in a breathtaking mountain environment. You can start from Cavareno or from Fondo, passing near the Tret waterfall, ascending to Lake Tret and from there to the ridge overlooking the Adige Valley, which is followed along its length to descend to the Mendola Pass and climb towards Malga Romeno at the foot of Roen (whose summit boasts a unique 360° panorama, reachable in a short time with a brief portage). From there, you dive downhill sliding on forest roads that seem endless and, at times winding, require attention and confidence in riding.
