Inghiaie Biotope walk
The Inghiaie Biotope is located near the village of Santa Giuliana (Levico Terme) and presents itself as a mosaic of different elongated-shaped environments. It extends over about 30 hectares and is easily accessible from the Valsugana cycle path.

The Biotope represents the transformation of the "Lago delle Lòchere", surrounded by marshy areas that were later reclaimed, shown on old Austrian maps near Santa Giuliana.

The remaining wetland areas of Inghiaie are therefore a testimony of the ancient marsh ecosystem, a reminder of a biological and landscape diversity element of the Alta Valsugana valley floor, and for this reason the Biotope has been protected.

The natural area is characterized by vegetation typical of wet zones, such as extensive reed beds composed of common reed. Furthermore, along the watercourses of the reserve, riparian groves of alder and willow grow.

The Inghiaie Biotope hosts a large number of animal species, some of which are rather rare. The natural state of its watercourses means that fish such as the stone loach and the Padanian lamprey live there, species of significant ecological and naturalistic interest, so much so that they are included among the species of community interest listed in the 92/43/EEC "Habitat" directive.
