<p>A splendid walk that first climbs through history, ascending the millenary staircase of 102 steps carved into the rock, to visit the <strong>Hermitage of San Colombano</strong>, a mystical place dating back to 700 AD and set into a rock face on a 120-meter-high cliff, an ancient refuge for hermit monks and for centuries a destination for pilgrims from all over the world. The path runs along the lake in its entire length amidst dense vegetation and with naturalistic views of rare beauty, ending at the Spino aqueduct.
