From village to village, on the road of mountain shepherds
A sunny walk with a view of the Catinaccio, starting from the scattered village of Vigo - ranked among the most beautiful in Italy - and crossing two of the six centres it comprises, "Costa" and "Larcioné", before reaching Soraga.
An easy hike that crosses the culture of mountain agriculture, made up of pastures and spontaneously formed settlements, some of the first in the valley, because here there is an abundance of light and water. The inhabitants of Vigo have always been called "patins", meaning lords in Ladin, because they could count on the warmth of the sun for more months of the year. Meanwhile, Soraga, "sora l’èga" (above the water), grew along the banks of the "Avisio" river. Here, the first settled Ladins established themselves, and it is here that many of the historical, artistic, and religious landmarks of the valley are preserved. When you arrive, treat yourself to a stop at Agritur Soreie, an organic farm that showcases the future of an agricultural tradition. Staying true to its roots yet forward-thinking, it will allow you to savour the fruits and flavours of this land.
