From Canazei to Penìa

In Val di Fassa there is a sandy beach on the riverbanks and, near a playground, a climbing cliff with a cave. Alba and Penìa of Canazei reserve surprises!

A loop on the right and left banks of the Avisio between wide open spaces and wooden bridges crossing the river. A gentle walk that leads straight to the borders of Val di Fassa. Penìa, a small village that was a seasonal alpine pasture for a long time, is actually the last inhabited center before Passo Fedaia and the Marmolada. Penìa derives its name from the slope on which it stands but, jokingly, tradition says "Penìa, che più en ite no l’é nia", meaning "Penìa, beyond it there is nothing more". A truly family-friendly route as, depending on the season, it offers stops and refreshment points, playgrounds and entertainment, and even a sandy beach at Alba, where you can enjoy moments of relaxation. Not to forget, just a few meters from the path, the surprise of a small cliff where you can climb without too much difficulty and also a cave that will ignite the imagination of the most attentive rock adventurers.
