From Canazei to Penìa | The last hamlet in Val di Fassa
A loop along the right and left banks of the Avisio River, through wide open spaces and over wooden bridges. A gentle walk from Canazei to Alba and Penìa, on the edge of Val di Fassa.
Penìa is the last village in Val di Fassa before Fedaia Pass and the Marmolada. A small hamlet clinging to the slope from which it takes its name, it was once closely linked to mountain pasture life. Jokingly, local tradition says: "Penìa, che più en ite no l’é nia", meaning "Penìa, beyond it, there’s nothing".<br />This walk is perfect for the whole family: along the way you’ll find plenty of places to stop for a break or a bite to eat, playgrounds and even toboggan runs. And in Alba, just a stone’s throw from the path, there’s a little surprise: a small rock face where you can climb in summer, and a cave that will spark the imagination of curious young adventurers.
