Discovering the Ladin village of Tamion

Tamion is a precious architectural village with an incredible view of the Sassolungo group, Buffaure, and Cima Dodici. Its small church houses Ladin treasures.

A precious Ladin cultural itinerary between bell towers, mountain huts, and barns that allows you to see the red rocks of Soraga, which have survived at least 260 million years through valley engravings made by streams. From the square of Soraga quickly climb up to the beautiful fraction of Barbide, where the small church dedicated to the Immaculate, “Queen conceived without original sin,” as an inscription reads, houses votive images of many pilgrims who have stopped there since the 1600s. It was the first stage of a mystical route that ended in Tamion, in the church dedicated to the Holy Trinity. Inside it houses an imposing crucifix and two paintings attributed to Valentino Rovisi, one of the best-known Baroque painters from Trentino, a pupil of Giovan Battista Tiepolo.
