Easy but long walk, also suitable for families with children accustomed to walking, around Monte Ghello starting from the Castle of Rovereto in the city center

The easy route starts from via Castelbarco near the Castle of Rovereto, with the only steep initial climb, then reaches the so-called historic “strada vecia.” Passing the ancient settlements of Valteri and Campolongo on a cobblestone road, you pass in front of the “Abitalbero” playground and the settlement of Zaffoni.

Higher up, you reach the entrance of an ancient gallery with a World War I cannon position and a splendid panorama.

Going down from the main route marked as "Monteghello route," you can also glimpse ancient abandoned stone quarries, while at the summit of the mountain there is a cross surrounded by a charming panorama. After enjoying the stunning view of the Adige Valley and the surrounding mountains, you arrive at the characteristic village of Toldi, from where you then descend towards the historic center of Rovereto.
