Chiese Valley - The Via delle Valli
Long distance hiking trail
Chiese Valley - The Via delle Valli

It takes a whole day to travel through the entire valley named after the river that crosses it, taking the hiker on a journey rich in history, rural life, and nature.

The hike is not difficult and is characterized by its long development accompanied by a contained elevation gain. It starts from the Austro-Hungarian military cemetery of Bondo and reaches the shores of Lake Idro, mostly following a downhill route. Alternatively, it is possible to walk the same route in reverse, from Lake Idro to the war cemetery of Bondo, with some uphill sections.
The route follows the "Ciclovia dei Fiori", which crosses the countryside, historic villages, and the towns of the valley, offering those who travel it a rich and rewarding experience. Along the almost 30 km, you will encounter artifacts from various historical periods (medieval castles, Austro-Hungarian fortresses, field works of the Great War, peasant museums, limestone for the production of lime, and much more), interspersed with unique naturalistic views, true windows on the lacustrine environments of Lakes Roncone and Idro, as well as unique spots along the Chiese river.
