At the ancient Baths of the prince-bishop of Bressanone

Around the settlement of Pozza, there is a story of miraculous water dating back to the Middle Ages. A precious source of sulfurous waters, lost for centuries and then rediscovered.

An easy walk in the woods and along the cycle-pedestrian path connecting Vigo and Pozza, passing by the only sulfurous spring in Trentino and the banks of the Avisio stream. Without knowing the thermal history of Pozza's water, approaching the Aloch water facilities, you might not know exactly where to look. Already in 1493 there was a Bathhouse, which later became a real thermal establishment owned by the prince-bishop of Bressanone for the treatment of skin diseases. It had 22 wooden bathing tubs, some overnight rooms, and two boilers for heating water. In 1641, a flood of the Avisio swallowed it, making it disappear for two centuries. Only in 1923 was the water rediscovered, and new Baths were built, which were destroyed by a fire after just two years. Decades of studies and works led to the inauguration, in 2005, of the current Terme Dolomia and, ten years later, the QC Terme Dolomiti.
