At Paludei and Foscur 24
A nature trekking route through the woods on the northern side of the Vigolana.
A route offering remarkable naturalistic and environmental features since the alternating conifer and broadleaf forests create a habitat of particular natural value, ideal for many plant and animal species. The undergrowth, with many varieties of mushrooms, is during the harvesting season (June-October) a strong attraction to satisfy the palate of many hikers. Not to be missed is the "salamander gorge" near Rifugio Paludei set in a mosaic of environmental situations rich in biodiversity, unique on the Vigolana plateau: wet meadows, sedge beds, reed beds, small peat bogs, streams surrounded by alder groves, birch and Scots pine woods, reproductive habitats for amphibians and insects like dragonflies, where you may encounter roe deer or the elusive black grouse.
