At Malga Negritella, along the Italo-Austrian defense lines

At Malga Negritella, at the foot of the Juribrutto and Bocche peaks, in the San Pellegrino Valley, you can take a break and reflect on the conquest of peace and beauty.

An excursion for everyone in a spectacular environment that, at times, blends the lush colors of San Pellegrino Pass with the black and white of those who fought to defend its borders. The route passes through the village of Fango, where the second line of Austrian defense was built during the First World War. It consisted of trenches, heavy artillery bases recovered from the Forte di Someda, and armored shelters. From here started a dense network of paths and cableways linked to the positions on the crest of Costabella and the Bocche chain. Two recovered and still visitable camps at Fango are the trench camp A and the one B in the woods. At Malga Negritella you can take your time to rest or enjoy the dishes of Ladin and Fassa culture.
