820 - Folgaria - Costa - Francolini

A scenic and relaxing route that from Folgaria West leads to the suburb of Costa, passes the 18th-century Maso Spilzi, crosses the greens of the 18-hole golf course, circles around the Ecken biotope, descends to Francolini, and returns to Folgaria following the provincial road. The route is developed on paved roads and comfortable dirt roads.

We get off our MTB, enter the inner courtyard of Maso Spilzi, look up at the guards’ hanging walkway, step into the large and dark vaulted spaces, and enter the bright “barn,” an unusual exhibition space. We turn the corner and discover there is also a restaurant (how about a look at the house specialties?) and a lovely courtyard where you can sit in the shade, have a drink, and enjoy the coolness. In front of us lies the 18-hole golf course, one of the most beautiful in Trentino. We get back on the saddle. The dirt path winds between the greens. What peace, what tranquility! And here is the Ecken biotope, a protected area, the relic of an ancient lake where, long ago, groups of prehistoric hunters shared their prey. Here is the beauty of nature, the coolness of the woods, and the calm of the sunny meadows.
