39 - Piccoli circuit
Piccoli is a characteristic and charming alpine village of Lavarone, located on the steep slope that descends into the deep Astico valley. Its origins are linked to the ancient track called 'dell'Ancino di là', a cart road (also known as 'Imperiala') which connected southern Tyrol with the Republic of Venice. Nearby, in the deep cave of Còvelo di Rio Malo, the bishop's toll was collected.
The walk is short but rich in many points of interest. To see, in the initial section (with a short detour), the deep crevasse of Spaccata, then the characteristic farmhouse of Dazio, the Còvelo di Rio Malo (a cavity accessible by a metal ladder), and the beautiful and original little church of Piccoli, dedicated to Madonna di La Salette, built in the 19th century on a large landslide boulder.
