35 - Rust Circuit from Carbonare
Monte Rust is a hill, completely wooded, that rises between Carbonare and Lake Lavarone. It is known for hosting the remains of the Optical Link Station at its summit, that is the ruins of a building used during the Great War (1914-1918) for exchanging light signals via the optical telegraph system. It is also a destination for beautiful walks that can be done from both Carbonare and Lavarone Chiesa.
The route goes around and climbs the hill, without reaching its summit. Having reached the highest point, it is however worth continuing as it allows reaching the Optical Link Station: in its walls the holes where the electric projectors that sent signals to the forts located along the defense line of the plateaus were placed are clearly visible.
