12 - Nocchi Circuit
As often happens, a surname is at the origin of a place name. This is the case of Nocchi, a small settlement overlooking the wide meadow basin of Costa, a suburb of Folgaria, originated from the surname Noch, long disappeared. The walk, easy, also suitable for families with children over 6 years, leads to the ancient Folgaria farmhouse and the underlying Maso Spilzi (17th century).
The walk has a short initial stretch, which is moderately uphill, then it develops downhill, in a pleasant meadow and forest environment happily exposed to the south. It is worth pausing to consider the ancient village of Nocchi, with its terraced houses, and stopping at Maso Spilzi, an ancient fortified farmhouse, now a cultural and exhibition center, and the Club House of the nearby 18-hole golf course.
