The highest gateways to the ridge are Manghen Pass, Rolle Pass and definitely Cermis ski-lift in Cavalese. The chain stretches from Manghen Pass to Rolle Pass for a total length of approximately 35 km. Its final section - around Colbricon and Rolle Pass - is part of the Paneveggio-Pale di San Martino Nature Park.
Lagorai Mountains have always been populated by shepherds, who travel across the valleys to reach its high pastures, namely its last bit of greenness before its porphyry walls. These igneous rocks primarily feature quartz and orthoclase. The Lagorai trekking tale, the Traslagorai, describes its quarries, overhanging areas, equipped sections, silences - nowadays unnatural - and scanty holds. This network of paths often benefits from the mule tracks and trails, which were used during the First World War.
