Centro Visitatori Peio
A small museum and an information point for the Stelvio National Park at Pejo.
Pejo Visitors' Centre provides an overall idea of the natural and environmental attractions of the Stelvio National Park. It houses a small museum and, opposite the small house where visitors can find the information material about the park's initiatives and specific educational publications, there is a cottage hosting an interactive educational exhibit suitable for children, who will learn about the life of the animals living in the park by having fun.
In addition to the wide projections hall, the educational offer features a display showing the park's history, how it is organized and its main characteristics. Another highlight of the centre is the Forest Room, a section entirely dedicated to trees and to the key role they play, not only within the Alpine ecological system: there is an area dedicated to dendrochronology - that is, all the techniques used to find out the age of a tree; there is an area with animated panels and another in which a forest "writ small" has been thoroughly re-enacted, with trees, leaves and lichens.
The structure is entirely accessible to the disabled.
