The altruism dilemma
The story, through photos and videos, of surprising and enigmatic examples of altruism in the animal world.
Curated by Daniela Gentile and Gabriele Raimondi.
While for us humans, altruism is a way of being that has to do with ethics and philosophy of life, from a biological point of view it is considered to be "a behaviour that, when carried out by an individual, another one benefits, while the person expressing it has disadvantage".
Through panels, photographs and videos in the exhibition, you will discover how many and which animal species can act for the good of their counterparts, by behaving in ways that seem to contradict the foundations of the theory of evolution.
