Nature and Magic at Sorna Canyon
Adventurous canyoning in the wild Sorna stream
A route through the woods that will take you into the heart of the Sorna canyon to discover ancient mines, suspension bridges, fairy-tale caves, and gorges carved and shaped by water.
Are you an adventure lover and are you not afraid to get your hands dirty or your feet wet? Do you get bored with the usual guided hikes on ordinary mountain trails? Then this day trip is for you: a plunge into the canyon carved by the Sorna stream to discover ancient mines, bridges suspended above dark chasms, fairy-tale caves and smooth gorges carved and shaped by water.
With an experienced guide, you will leave from the small village of Cornè and walk through the wood and then down to the riverbed of the Sorna stream, encountering “el pont del Diaol“, an ancient bridge of great beauty at the point where the stream plunges into a gorge some 30 meters deep. The walk continues with stairs going up to the ancient mines in the riverbed.
If the temperature and water level allow it, you can also do a trekking stretch in the stream and in the natural pools, where you will be completely immersed in Monte Baldo Park!
