European Ski Cross Cup
Four European Cup ski cross races at San Pellegrino Pass between February and March
Another top-level international event lands in Trentino and, in particular, in the San Pellegrino ski area for the turning point of the continental ski cross circuit, an emerging discipline that is part of the freestyle sector. On Friday the 16th and Saturday the 17th of February, and on Thursday the 7th and Friday the 8th of March, at the Cross Park Costabella, two ski cross Europe Cup are taking place, thanks to the organisation by "Monti Pallidi" sport association of Moena in partnership with FISI’s Trentino committee. Around 120 athletes from 11 nations are lining up at the starting gates. Thirteen Italians will be there as well, eight of whom come from Trentino.
The programme for both challenges includes the men's and women's qualifying rounds starting at 10.30 a.m., followed by elimination heats until the final that will decide the winner of the day. The slope, which has a development of 1200 metres with 150 metres of drop, has been for years Federal Training Centre of the Italian national teams and is particularly appreciated because it holds all the technical and security qualities. It’s a complete track that presents all kinds of parabolic turns: 3 negatives, rollers, dragons and 4 jumps.
